The tribulation is not the "Day of the Lord". Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:Mar 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,Mar 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. ( sun being darkened , moon to blood/darkened) The Day of the Lord is after The 6th seal . There is no secret rapture! 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.Paul wants us educated and not in the dark to this wonderful truth 1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.Us being alive at his return will not stop those who have died in the Lord from rising from the dead. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Notice the Lord is descending from heaven with a shout and the trump of God. This is no secret and it doesn't say he is going back up. The dead rise first.1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.Remember the dead rise first and we meet them in the clouds, folks that's in our atmosphere, you can see things with the naked eye at that level. And remember he is descending from heaven at this point. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.You notice that he uses the phrase day of the lord when talking his descending from heaven and our being gathered to him. And it coming like a thief, but to who will he come as a thief? 1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.Notice sudden destruction comes upon them not us. 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.That day will not overtake us like a thief because we are not in darkness. 1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.1Th 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober.1Th 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,1Th 5:10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.What did Jesus say? What did Paul say? 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive [and]1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, [even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
What is the conclusion of this matter? 1. The day of the Lord which is when he says we are gathered to him is obvious and noisy. 2. It's only coming as a thief to those who are in darkness. 3. We are not appointed to sudden destruction but to obtain salvation when he returns. 4. If you teach anything other than this you are proud knowing nothing but nit picking over words and need to repent. |
